Mr. Handfield is 14 years old and lives with Autism and anxiety, but they don't slow him down. He began doing taekwondo thanks to his friend who invited him to a holiday party at the studio. Learning Tae Kwon Do is different for him, and he is learning to speak up about that and get the appropriate help from the instructors, and their teaching skills through the life skills of ATA.
Mr Handfield is currently ranked Top 10 in the World in the Special Abilities Ring in Forms and Weapons Forms.
Ms. Caitlyn Higa started TKD at the age of 6 years old. It was mostly her mom’s idea because she thought Caitlyn was too shy at school. The first day of class was the scariest day ever for her, but after a few classes she began to learn new skills and movements. The more she went the better she became and the more confident she was in herself. It took 3 years to reach her first-degree Black Belt and now she is regularly competing in tournaments across the country in Forms and Weapons Forms. Giordano’s ATA TKD has helped her develop greater self-confidence, become a better student, become a leader, and make friends at school. She enjoys being surrounded by positive environment that promotes growth and success.
Starting at age 13, you can enter the program to become a certified instructor at age 18.
